About

The yoga therapy for the mind 8-week course is a comprehensive and evidence-based program for anyone looking to reduce stress or suffering from anxiety and/or depression.

​The course combines specific yoga therapy techniques
  • Enhance the functioning of the nervous system to improve well-being
  • Improves self-awareness through the practice of mindfulness
  • Promotes the support of others by eliminating habitual patterns of thought and behaviour.

Both mindfulness and therapeutic yoga are well known to help improve anxiety and depression, this 8 week yoga therapy course will help you to access these profound healing properties

All sessions are taught in a compassionate and safe setting.

Course Structure

Weekly Themes

Week 1-2: Learn to regulate and understand your mood through breath. 

Week 3-5: Understand emotional health through your working with the body.

Week 6-8 Learn to work with the mind by engaging in practices that enable you to view and adapt mental patterns in new and helpful ways.

As a part of the course you will also  receive:
  • A comprehensive course manual 
  • Yoga therapy and Mindfulness CDs to support daily practice
​Weekly themed homework is provided to help students integrate the yoga and mindfulness practices into their everyday lives.  

Who Can Join?
​

  • Suitable for individuals wishing to work with current experiences of stress, anxiety and/or depression and for those wishing to develop skills and techniques for future prevention
  • All levels of yoga and meditation experience are welcome including complete beginners, 
  • Classes are kept to a minimum of 12 so that every student receives individual attention, creating safety and support.

​How is the Course Different from Other Courses for Emotional Healing?

Usually courses will focus on just the mind and/or just the body as a way to enhance mental well-being.  At Minded we understand that the most effective way to encourage long-term transformation is by focusing on the entire person.  Methods that focus just on the mind forget that mental habits are deeply connected with how the brain functions.

​Without movement or breath work a person will struggle to use the power of mind to change deeply entrenched patterns of thinking and reacting.  Likewise if we only focus on the body we may overlook the reasons why we are so tied to particular ways of reacting to the environment.

​Research reveals that faster and more long-term healing occurs through the intelligent integration of mind and body techniques.
