Background & Inspiration
"Knowing your own darkness is the best way of dealing with the darkness of other people" - CARL JUNG
Shweta Panchal is a Yoga & Mindfulness Therapist for Mental Health. She has been teaching since 2012 and has had a personal yoga and mindfulness practice for over 20 years. Although she has undergone rigorous training and continues to develop her scientific understanding and knowledge her inspiration and guidance continue to also come from her personal practice and deep and ongoing personal enquiry.
As well as working with individuals at her private practice in London and Hertfordshire, she is senior supervisor and lecturer at The Minded Institute, an Active Birth Pregnancy Yoga Teacher, an Ambassador for the Pre and Postnatal Depression and Anxiety charity PANDAS, and is a member of the parliamentary group bringing yoga to the NHS.
She has a first class honors degree in Psychology and Social Anthropology, and before becoming a full-time mother to her two boys, she had a successful eight-year career as a Management Consultant. She now speaks and runs workshops for organisations on understanding and optimising mental health using non-medicalised interventions and also speaks at National Mental Health conferences about the efficacy of Yoga and Mindfulness practices as therapeutic interventions for clinical populations. She provides business and organisational support to the Minded Institute and has spoken at parliament about strategies required to successfully integrate Yoga into the NHS.
She is committed to integrating yoga and mindfulness with psychology for mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma including stress related to infertility, perinatal depression and anxiety. She also aspires to complete her masters in psychotherapy in the near future.
